Is it an RV or a Camper

RV stands for Recreational Vehicle, this generally is understood to mean a vehicle that has the amenities that you find in a home.
Think back to Robin William's career days he had a movie specifically called RV
The movie is a family fun comedy about Robin Williams playing the dad of a family he is trying to get closer to and decides to take them on a vacation in the RV. The essence of versatility of having a RV to travel for vacation is shown quite well, it is also a decent watch while you go RVing. Other movies with an RV as a strong point in the movie are We're the Millers and Meet the Fockers.

Camper's, on the other hand, is a term used to refer to most any other type of camping sleeping unit that does not contain an engine. The trailers pulled by trucks, the ones that mount onto the back of trucks. Pop-up trailers, travel trailer, fifth wheeler, and whatever else that you may see on the road not housing it's own engine and transmission are referred to as campers.
