Better to have a bigger Gray water tank or Black water tank

So are you getting ready to purchase a new camper? First time buyers often have a lot of questions and sometimes do not even know what they do not know when purchasing one for the first time. What is the Amperage of the camper, what is the dry weight and is it the same as UVW? Does this camper have fiberglass insulation or Azdel or something different?

One question that everyone should get a quick answer to is the difference between Black and Gray Water tanks.

Black water tank is the tank that catches the waste water from the toilet.

Gray water tanks are all other waste water not flushed down the toilet.

Gray water tanks usually consist of sink water that, while may be dirty, does not count as hazardous biological waste.

More often than not the Gray water tank will be larger than the black water tank.

In either case, you should plan on taking your tanks out empty and filling them at the destination and emptying them before you leave.
