Difference between Solitude vs. Solutide S - Class

Image
There is little argument to be had, that Grand Design RV's are some of the best made RV's in industry right now. They have many different models, options, floor plans, be it a Travel Trailer, Toy Hauler, or Fifth Wheel, Grand Design puts extra effort into all that they do to make sure that now matter the preference, the camper will be satisfied in their decision to purchase their units and happy with all the extra's that come with them. If their is one thing, that Grand Design does the best though, I would say it is their 5th Wheelers. The Solitude and the Solitude S-Class are both impressive camper lines. But when it comes time to look at them, which one really is better? Is it the Solitude or Solitude S-Class? The winner is not the Solitude S-Class but the Solitude! Both the Solitude and Solitude S-Class, have some great features that are sure to be a benefit to anyone who purchases the camper. From the standard Arctic Package that is better suited to four se...

2019 Chevy Coachmen Freelander Review

Image
Check back soon for a right up review of the 2019 Freelanders by Coachmen, in the 4500 series. See how it stacks up for your comparison against other Class C models. The first thing that to talk about with the new 2019 Freelander is not the floor plan but the engine itself. 2019 is Chevy's breakaway from the Kodiak to the new 4500 Silverado's engine but that is in it's work trucks, not the RV's. The Class C Freelander's are desired, for among other reasons, the quieter gasoline engines that are still tough and built for the distance and workload. Why is this the first on the list of importance thought, maybe besides floor-plan anyways, is  because if it was not for the engine then you may as well have gotten a travel trailer. The Freelander is built starting with the 4500 chassis, and the tried and true engine is still the old 6.0 Liter V8, L96 gasoline engine. Not the new Diesel 6.6 Liter on the new Silverados. This engine comes in with 324 horsepower...

Are alluminum rims better on an RV?

When it comes to Aluminum rim vs the classic Steel rims, the answer of which is better can be a matter of debate and depends upon how you plan on using your RV. The larger consensus favors Aluminum over steel almost always due to the lighter weight, resistance to heat, and the better handling and braking. Steel tends to win out where conditions are more geared for winter travel and frequent travel over roads that have been de-iced. Also, largely unpaved roads where pot holes are a large concern is another reason to opt to forgo "upgrading" to the aluminum rims if presented with the choice. In many situations aluminum rims have the advantage though especially for Class A RV's where the better handling and easier braking is a huge benefit. The aluminum rims also resist heating up better than the steel rims which helps when long hauls and frequent tire pressure checks come in to play.

Avenger 27DBS Review

Image
The Avenger line manufactured by Prime Time Manufacturing based in Indiana. The company is under the Forest River Inc. umbrella. The Model itself, is the #1 best selling unit across the whole manufacturer's line-up. The camper itself has a lot of features usually only reserved with more pricier models. One of the biggest factors that this model is so reasonably priced is due to the fact that it is one of the most produced models. One of the best features on the newer models is the stairs that fold into the camper itself. Unlike many similar models in the price point, they extra touch here is sure save tons of aggravation at the start and end of the season. Helping save backs and stress with fighting heavy fold under stairs. Continuing on the outside of this unit, there is an outdoor kitchen that hides under the rear bunks inside. A bottle opener next to the door is a pleasant and welcoming gimmick that while not a reason to by helps if you are to own it. It holds two propane t...
